Hyatt House Chicago/West Loop-Fulton Market is located just a handful of blocks from my place in Chicago. Friends were recently visiting and they stayed at the hotel for two nights. World of Hyatt points were redeemed for their room and they enjoyed their stay.

Anthony’s Take: I have stayed at this hotel several times and always found it to be a step above other Hyatt House properties. The rooms are spacious and the hotel has a nice outdoor area as well as a pool and a lobby that you’ll want to work or relax in.

Booking

I booked a Standard Room Free Night rate for a Den | Two Queen Beds. Rates at this hotel are reasonable and the cash rate was $309 plus taxes. If not paying cash, you can expect a range of 12,000-18,000 per night when redeeming World of Hyatt points. This stay was 15,000 points per night.

Transportation to/from the Hotel

I live in the West Loop, so we were able to walk to the hotel. If you’re traveling from one of the two Chicagoland airports, expect between 30 and 90 minutes to get to the hotel.

Location

The hotel is located in the West Loop. If you’re not familiar with the neighborhood, it has some of the city’s best restaurants and is a great place to hang out. The river and most tourist attractions are easily reached from here.

Check-in

Once off the elevators on the third floor, the check-in desk is the first thing you’ll see. We arrived at the hotel around 4:30 PM. The room was ready (as expected). I was the only one checking in and was quickly assisted. The agent offered a late checkout and told me that I was upgraded to a High Floor Kitchen Suite | Two Queen Beds. This was a nice upgrade and provided a sizable space to stay in. A moment later we were back in the elevator and off to our room.
