We spent a few days in Copenhagen to check out the Christmas markets. It had been a few years since we were last in the Danish capital and found the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel had the perfect location for Tivoli Gardens and exploring the city. The hotel is modern and we enjoyed the room we had there for the two nights we stayed.
Anthony’s Take: Copenhagen feels magical this time of year. The hotel is within walking distance of many attractions, it has a nice Executive Lounge, and the staff were all friendly. We were surprised to see people jumping into the water behind the hotel given how cold it is, but learned that this is a traditional activity after using the sauna on the pier.

Booking
I booked a 1 King Bed, City View, Deluxe Guest Room on a “Member Flexible Rate.” It was $375 per night including taxes and fees. Marriott did away with award charts a few years ago, but redemptions can be had for between 40,000 and 70,000 Marriott Bonvoy® points.

Transportation to/from the Hotel
We took an Uber Taxi from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to the hotel and back from our hotel in Malmö. The ride there took around around 16 minutes (it’s around 8 miles) and cost $80. Departing, the ride was around $154, but took around 45 minutes.

Location
The hotel is located on the waterfront in central Copenhagen and is near Tivoli Gardens, Harbor Beach, and Strøget Street.

The lobby is spacious with a good amount of seating throughout.

It was decorated for Christmas during our visit.

One half of the lobby features a bar.

There is more seating in this area.

Check-In
Reception is to the left upon entering the hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 6:00 PM. The room was ready and the agent explained that the Executive Club Lounge was located just down the hall. Breakfast was served there. I requested a 2:00 PM late checkout, which was granted without issue. Suite upgrades were not available as the hotel was pretty booked with a large group. The agent did get us into a 1 King Bed, Water View, Concierge Lounge Access, High Floor – 8th and above, Executive Guest Room as an upgrade. I chose points as my welcome amenity for being Titanium Elite, had our keys printed, and was on the way to the room.

Elevators are down the hall (before the Executive Lounge).

The elevator lobby and hallways on our floor were clean and in good repair.

There was some seating in the hallway as well as a staircase to the floor above.

1 King Bed, Water View, Concierge Lounge Access, High Floor – 8th and Above, Executive Guest Room (1046)
There are 406 rooms and suites at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel.

The room opened with a wardrobe on the right and the bathroom on the left.

The bathroom was a decent size and held a vanity with a single sink, a toilet, and a glassed-in shower.

The vanity offered some counter space. No bar soap was provided.

Bottles of This Works hand wash and body lotion were on the counter.

The toilet was spaced well within the room.

The shower was pretty standard. Water pressure and temperature were both fine.

More toiletries were mounted to the shower wall.

A sign on the vanity touted the cleanliness of Denmark’s drinking water.

The wardrobe held an iron and ironing board, robes, and the safe.

The bedroom was straight ahead. It held a king-sized bed, nightstands, a couch by the window with a small table, a desk and chair, and a TV.

The TV was mounted over the desk across from the bed.

Coffee, condiments, tea, mugs, a kettle, glasses, and an ice bucket were on the desk.

The cabinet below held a refrigerator with beverages for sale and a shelf with some snacks.

The couch was comfy and filled the entire space by the window.

Copenhagen Pier Restaurant
We had dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. We were tired and it worked well for us to eat and then go to bed. We had three dishes and they all were pretty tasty.

Nordic Beer-Battered Fish & Chips

Warm Potato Chips with Salmon Roe

Himmerland Beef Tartar

Executive Lounge
The Executive Lounge is open daily between 6:30 AM and 9:30 PM for breakfast and snacks.

It’s a nice area with plenty of seating.

Even when it was crowded, we easily found a seat.

Coffee was available throughout the day.

Soft drinks and beer were in refrigerators near the buffet.

Wine was available in the evening.

Snacks were provided in the evening (this included several hot dishes).

There was also cheese, veggies, and more on offer.

Chicken Satay was the highlight one evening.

There were jars of snacks out all day.

Breakfast had a nice spread of hot and cold dishes.

This included eggs, bacon, and potatoes.

There was coffee to go near the entrance of the lounge in the morning.

I liked these candles.

Public Areas & Amenities
The hotel offers robes and towels for those who want to swim in the river (pictured above), a fitness center, a restaurant and bar, a mini market, a spa, meeting and event space, as well as the seating and Executive Lounge outlined above.

The fitness center offered a good amount of equipment.

Towels and water were also on offer.

The men’s locker room offered sinks and showers.

There was also a sauna and steam room.

The spa was near the fitness center. We did not use it.

The mini market was also in the lobby.
Overall Impression:
The Copenhagen Marriott Hotel worked perfectly for our trip. We could walk to Tivoli Gardens and everywhere else we wanted to go was just a short Uber ride. The hotel, room, and its facilities were all just what we needed and we’ll return to this hotel again in the future.
