I had an event in Boston and needed a place to stay near the venue. The Boston Marriott Copley Place was only a few blocks away and worked well for my quick trip. This is a huge hotel and one that offers all you’ll need in Boston for a leisure or business trip (although it definitely seems more geared for business travel).
Anthony’s Take: My stay at the Boston Marriott Copley Place was brief, but I enjoyed the time that I had there. The M Lounge is a nice addition for snacks and drinks and I spent some time working in there before my event. As mentioned above, this is a large hotel and it feels very much like one that is attached to a convention center. I loved that there was a Starbucks in the hotel.

Booking
I booked a 1 King Bed, Guest Room on a “Member Flexible Rate.” It was $289 for the night plus taxes and including a Destination Fee of $35. Marriott did away with award charts a few years ago, but redemptions can be had for between 42,000 and 80,000 Marriott Bonvoy® points.

Transportation to/from the Hotel
I took an Uber Comfort from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to the hotel and back the next morning. The ride there took around around 16 minutes (it’s around 10 miles) and cost $44. Departing, the ride was around $56, but took around 25 minutes.
Location
The hotel is located near Copley Square and Boston attractions like Newbury Street, Fenway Park, the Prudential Center, and Copley Place Mall

The lobby is on the smaller side given the size of the hotel. There was some seating and a Christmas tree on display during my visit.

Check-In
I arrived at the hotel around 2:00 PM. Reception is to the right when entering. The agent was able to upgrade me to a 1 King Bed, 1-Bedroom Suite. It was ready. She also explained that the M Club Lounge was available and its hours. Breakfast was also served there. I requested a 1:00 PM late checkout, which was granted without issue. The agent did not tell me about the Destination Fee. There is one and it’s $35 per day. I did not receive the Bonvoy Elite Amenity either. I chose points as my welcome amenity for being Titanium Elite, had my keys printed, and was on the way to the suite.

Destination Fee
- Daily $20 food and beverage credit
- Tickets to View Boston for two guests per stay. View Boston is the latest attraction located on the top 3 floors of the iconic Prudential Center. Guests will have 360-degree captivating panoramas of the city including an open-air roof deck, interactive 3D model of the city and a 270-degree immersive theater
- Access to SmartHunt Tours (per room, per stay)– Choice of Curated Tour of the City of Boston, Fun Scavenger Hunt or Freedom Trail Tour for history enthusiasts
- Daily Enhanced high-speed internet access (Wi-Fi)
- Bonvoy Elite Amenity (Gold members and above): Daily Welcome Amenity for two guests. Includes Bubbly, mixed nuts, and cookies

Elevators are down the hall from reception.

The elevator lobby and hallways on my floor were clean and in good repair.

1 King Bed, 1-Bedroom Suite (3314)
There are 1,144 rooms and suites at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

The suite opened with a closet to the left. It held an extra pillow.

The living area was straight ahead. It had a wet bar and coffeemaker.

A Keurig, coffee, condiments, water, and ice bucket, and glasses.

There was also a sink.

An empty refrigerator was below for guest use.

This area also included a desk and chair.

Just past that was the sofa, some tables, a few lamps, and an armchair.

The TV was mounted to the wall across from the couch.

The bedroom was off of the living area. It held a king-sized bed, nightstands, a table and chair, another desk area, an ottoman/luggage rack, and another TV.

The TV was mounted across from the bed.

The ottoman/luggage rack was next to the TV.

The chair and table were near the window.

A full-length mirror was on the wall near the bathroom.

The closet held a robe, iron, and ironing board.

The safe was also there.

The suite offered a nice view.

The bathroom was off the bedroom. It held a vanity with a single sink, a toilet, and a glassed-in shower.

The vanity offered a lot of counter space.

A bar of thisworks® brand soap and body lotion were next to the sink.

The toilet was tightly wedged between the vanity and shower.

The shower was a decent size. Water pressure and temperature were both fine.

Large bottles of thisworks® brand shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were mounted to the wall.

M Club Lounge
The M Club Lounge is open 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. It’s open to Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite members (plus one guest) as well as those who book rooms that grant access. Snacks, coffee, and soft drinks are available all day with evening hors d’oeuvres and breakfast served here.

Here are the hours for the M Club Lounge.

The lounge was not crowded when I visited.

There is a lot of seating (which is good considering the number of rooms here).

The lounge was decorated for Christmas when I visited.

Snacks were on offer when I went into the lounge.

Santa Fe Mix, M&Ms, and Chex Mix

Packaged chips and pretzels

Cookies and other baked goods

Fresh fruit

Smoothies and milk

A coffee machine was available for guest use.

Soda and seltzer

Water

Public Areas & Amenities
The hotel offers an indoor pool (pictured above), a fitness center, a FedEx, a Yard House, a Starbucks, an ATM, a retail store, as well as meeting and event space.

Wipes and hand sanitizer by the pool

The fitness center was next to the pool in what the Marriott called its “Health Club.”

The fitness center offered all of the standard equipment and free weights.

An ATM was in the lobby.

Starbucks was up a level.

Yard House was down the hall.

There was also a FedEx location.

A retail store sold souvenirs and snacks.
Overall Impression:
I had a good stay and would return if I needed to be nearby. This is a business hotel and it won me over with the Starbucks in the building and the good elite treatment.
