Hilton Hotels & Resorts announced the grand opening of Hilton Arlington Rosslyn The Key today. The striking property ushers in the next era for the design of Hilton’s flagship brand. The hotel rises 36 stories above the Potomac River at the base of the iconic Francis Scott Key Bridge and is the first to debut Hilton’s refreshed identity.
The new Hilton Arlington Rosslyn The Key features 331 guest rooms that feature earthy blues and soft hues to echo the flow of the Potomac River. Organic shapes and other curated details are meant to reflect the vibrant spirit of Arlington and Washington, DC. A modern fitness center and street-level retail provide the hotel’s lifestyle offerings.
At the heart of the property is Locket. This restaurant blends a modern steakhouse with fresh seafood and inventive dishes. It’s located in a dramatic two-story space with expansive windows. For everyday convenience, the hotel offers Scott’s Coffee. It serves Starbucks along with grab-and-go options.
The property also offers 28,000 square feet of meeting and event space (including nine state-of-the-art meeting rooms and The View at the Key, which is a signature event venue on the 36th floor). The space has sweeping 360-degree views of Washington, DC, the Potomac River, and Arlington’s skyline.
Strategically located, the Hilton Arlington Rosslyn The Key offers direct access to the Rosslyn Metro, which puts guests within minutes of Georgetown, the National Mall, and Reagan National Airport. The property is part of a mixed-use development by the Dittmar Company that also includes 514 luxury apartments.
Anthony’s Take: I like the design of this hotel and it’s great if this is meant to showcase the way the Hilton brand is moving. It looks modern and inviting. It will be interesting to see Hilton roll this out (or elements of it) across its vast portfolio.
