United Airlines opened its second United Club Fly™ today. I had written about a new United Club℠ Fly being under construction in Terminal B at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) back in September and now it’s finally open. This lounge concept with grab-and-go packaged food, a barista, and beverages ready to take with you on your flight rolled out at Denver International Airport (DEN) in late 2022 (my full review here) and I’m happy to see United expanding on this lounge format.

More than 300,000 travelers have visited Club Fly™ since it opened at Denver International Airport (DEN). This club format reflects the United’s “ongoing commitment to launch new innovations that support different customer needs during their travel journeys.” It’s a smart investment that strengthens loyalty. Delta Air Lines has its own grab-and -go locations and Capital One started the trend in its lounges.

United Club Fly IAH

More than half of the passengers at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) are connecting and this gives them a United experience while in transit. Located in Terminal B, United Club Fly™ features a design that reflects Houston. The Space City inspired club features seasonal coffee bar drinks like the Lavender Matcha Latte and Blueberry Acai “Galaxy” Latte.

Other amenities include:

  • Seamless, self-scan entry with a boarding pass at automated entry gates.
  • Selection of premium food and beverages, including fresh-squeezed orange juice, warmed pastries, wraps, salads, sandwiches and more.
  • Barista-crafted, personalized coffee beverages from a full-service coffee bar.
  • Self-service beverage counter with a reusable water bottle refilling station and other nonalcoholic beverages, including soft drinks, iced tea, and more.

United Club Fly™ is located near Gates B12 to B20. It’s open daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This is a tiny space and not meant for lingering. The lounge measures only 1,563 square feet and can seat 16 guests max.

Access

Entry is granted to the following guests:

  • United Club℠ members
  • Travelers in premium cabins flying internationally
  • United Club℠ one-time pass holders

No guests are allowed to enter with passengers that have access (regardless of one having a membership, the cabin flown, or status held).

Alexander Dorow, Head of United’s Club and Lounge Program, said:

We’re bringing elevated convenience to Houston with the opening of our second Club Fly™ location. Designed for on-the-go United Club℠ members, Club Fly™ offers a club experience that matches the ways travelers’ needs have evolved, especially when they’re pressed for time. Not all customers travel the same way and that encourages us to constantly look at new opportunities to add value to our club program and support travelers throughout their entire journey.”

ORD Polaris Coming Soon

The opening of this United Club Fly™ is part of the airline’s growth plans in Houston that include a $2.6 billion renovation and expansion of Terminal B, a new United Club℠ location, and an Early Bag Storage facility (EBS). It also marks United’s latest investment in its network of lounges. Since 2022, United has opened or renovated a total of eight United Club℠ locations. In 2025, it will open expanded Polaris Lounges at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). United will also reopen a renovated and expanded club in the Denver International Airport (DEN) B West Terminal, which will complete its plan to redesign every United Club℠ at the airport. Internationally, United plans to reopen the United Club℠ in Hong Kong. Next year, it will open a new United Club℠ at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Anthony’s Take: I love the United Club Fly™ concept and can’t wait to check out the new location at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). It’s convenient and takes some stress out of connecting.
