Delta Air Lines and Lyft have had a partnership since 2018. This will end in April when the Atlanta-based carrier and the rideshare app part ways to make way for a new matchup. Uber will begin offering Delta flyers bonus SkyMiles on rides and Uber Eats orders.

Delta A220-100

This spring, Uber passengers will be able to link their Delta SkyMiles accounts to earn one mile per $1 spent on $40+ restaurant and grocery orders placed with Uber Eats and on UberX rides to and from the airport. Uber Comfort and Uber Black will earn two miles per $1 spent. Passengers who reserve their airport rides in advance will earn three miles per $1 spent. In addition to earning SkyMiles, Uber is offering “improved Uber pickup and drop off experiences at Delta hubs.”

Delta Lyft

Lyft released a statement on the end of its partnership to TechCrunch. It reads in part:

Years ago we teamed up with our first airline to unlock more ways to uplevel and innovate around travel experiences, thereby turning those customers into Lyft loyalists. We’re continuing to expand our horizons by joining forces with major brands who share our customer obsession, like Alaska Airlines, Chase, DoorDash, Mastercard, Hilton, Disney, and Bilt. Link your Lyft account and discover a growing world of benefits.”

Additional details from Delta Air Lines and Uber should be released soon. The Lyft partnership ends officially on April 7th. I’m guessing that the Uber earnings will start immediately after.

Anthony’s Take: I have been an avid Uber rider (and Uber Eats customer) for many, many years. I’m excited and hope that I’ll soon be able to earn Marriott Bonvoy® points and Delta SkyMiles. There is no word if members will be able to keep both accounts linked and earn both, but I’m hoping for the best.
