Frontier Airlines has been making lots of changes. The low-cost carrier announced the bundling of fares, end of change fees, and more transparent fares a few weeks ago. Now, Frontier is back with expansion plans (beyond its new base in San Juan) where it wants to take on competitive routes held by some of the Big 3 across the United States.

Anthony’s Take: It’s interesting to see Frontier shift its strategy and work to take on the major airlines out of their hubs with competitive routes. I’m not sure how these will fare, but I give credit to Frontier for pivoting.

Well, this won’t last. The BIG THREE will swoop in and saturate it with additional flights (except into JFK) and match fares from the BIG THREE HUBS, until Frontier departs those routes.
