Frontier Airlines flight F9 1048 from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) landed safely this evening after crew members discovered a “threatening note” on board. This prompted precautionary measures upon landing including a security sweep.
According to Frontier Airlines, the flight landed without incident and was directed to a remote stand at the airport. Passengers were transported by bus to the terminal while authorities cleared the aircraft. The airline did not disclose the contents of the note or where it was found on the aircraft. Officials confirmed that crew members discovered the note mid-flight and immediately reported it to authorities.
After ensuring no threat was present, the aircraft was cleared for return to regular service. Passengers experienced a brief delay due to the investigation, but were ultimately brought safely to the terminal without incident. Frontier Airlines released the following statement:
Nothing of concern was found during the security inspection conducted by law enforcement. The aircraft will resume normal service after completing additional standard procedures.”
Anthony’s Take: Thankfully, this incident was found to be nothing. What possesses people to do things like this is beyond me. This is stupid. Just like joking about having a bomb or saying the plane is going to crash.
