As Four Seasons celebrates its 65th anniversary, the luxury hospitality company enters 2026 from a position of growth and expansion. Founded in 1961 by Isadore Sharp with a single hotel in Toronto, the brand has evolved into a global portfolio of hotels, resorts, residences, yachts, curated journeys, and more.

Today, Four Seasons operates 135 hotels and resorts and 61 residential properties in 47 countries. There are approximately 60 additional projects under development. It’s privately held by Cascade Investment, Kingdom Holding Company, and Four Seasons Founder and Chairman Isadore Sharp through Triples Holdings Limited.

Strategic Expansion Across Key Markets

In 2026, Four Seasons will debut several new properties that showcase both the company’s global ambition and its dedication to local authenticity:

  • Americas: Following major 2025 openings in Naples and Puerto Rico, the company will expand further with Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Cartagena. Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara will also make its highly anticipated return following a comprehensive restoration.
  • Asia Pacific: Four Seasons Hotel Hanoi at Hoan Kiem Lake will mark the company’s debut in Vietnam’s capital.
  • Europe: New openings will include Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel, Venice, restoring a historic landmark on the Grand Canal (I loved this hotel when it was in the Starwood and later Marriott portfolio), Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos (the company’s second property in Greece), and The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel, which introduces the brand’s signature service to the Swiss Alps.
  • Middle East: Saudi Arabia anchors the region’s growth with the forthcoming Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island and the wellness-focused Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay. Four Seasons Hotel Madinah will unite modern design and cultural heritage near one of the holiest sites in Islam.

Looking ahead, the company plans to enter or re-enter several major global cities, including Berlin after a 20-year absence, as well as Rio de Janeiro, Charleston, Telluride, Deer Valley, and additional Middle Eastern markets.

Redefining Experiential Luxury

Four Seasons continues to push beyond traditional hospitality with experiential travel platforms designed for high-intent, high-spend travelers:

  • Four Seasons Yachts will enter service in 2026 with its first vessel sailing through the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Adriatic.
  • Four Seasons Private Jet Experience continues to add regional and globe-circling itineraries with industry-leading repeat rates.
  • Multi-property itineraries debuting in Bali, Spain, and Mexico will offer curated journeys with local guides and cultural immersion.

Residential Leadership Accelerates

With 61 residential properties across 20 countries and residences included in 65% of the global development pipeline, Four Seasons remains the leading brand in the fast-growing branded residential category.

Recent and forthcoming projects include Istanbul, Bahrain Bay, Puerto Rico, Mumbai, Naples, Cartagena, and expanded Mountain and standalone Private Residences in Washington, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Las Vegas, and Miami.

A Unified Brand Built for the Long Term

Across six decades, Four Seasons has maintained a single brand strategy, tying together hotels, residences, and journeys under one consistent service ethos. As the company expands into new destinations and travel sectors, it focuses on premium market positioning and the continued evolution of service excellence.

Anthony’s Take: With a record pipeline, a diversified business model, and strong shareholder support, Four Seasons enters its next chapter with a clear mandate to shape the future of luxury hospitality worldwide. It might have lost its partnership with HBO for the next season of White Lotus, but it does not appear that the brand is slowing down at all.
