I have been a member of FoundersCard for the past decade and found value in some of the travel benefits. The one that was always most valuable to me was the Diamond status granted in the Caesars Rewards program. This benefit is now going away on January 31st and I need to reevaluate if I will be renewing my membership as it is being replaced with Platinum status in Wynn Rewards.

Caesars Rewards

In February 2024, I wrote about how FoundersCard and Caesars Rewards were parting ways. In March 2024, it was decided that the benefit was going to be extended into January 2025. With that benefit going away, I saw no other real reason to keep the membership and was going to cancel it (until the benefit was preserved a month later and before my July renewal date). Now, I’m faced with the same dilemma. I like the Wynn and many of its restaurants, but I don’t see myself using the status like I did with Caesars Rewards.

FoundersCard Caesars

FoundersCard is a membership community of entrepreneurs and senior-level professionals. It offers discounts and other VIP perks to members for a $595 annual fee. In years past, I have gotten great value from the Caesars Rewards benefit with a $100 Celebration Dinner and comped hotel stays in Las Vegas. I just took advantage of these last year with a stay at The Cromwell (review here) and several others over the years at the Flamingo (review here), Planet Hollywood (review here), and Caesars.

Wynn Rewards FoundersCard

Starting February 1st, FoundersCard members will be comped Wynn Rewards Platinum status. But, the status will not come with all of the benefits afforded to those who earn it organically. The $100 spa credit, $150 birthday dinner credit, access to masterclass benefits, and complimentary Holland America Line cruise for two will all not be offered unless a FoundersCard member completes a two-night (or longer) stay. They can then access those benefits on a second stay of at least two nights.

Anthony’s Take: I am going to see if I can stack my American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts® credit in booking a stay at the Wynn to unlock the benefits with this status. I’ll need to determine the overall cost. There are many other hotels I want to stay at in Las Vegas and I’m not sure if I’ll be there and able to stay at the Wynn twice this year. I’ll make a decision before July as to whether I cancel or keep my FoundersCard.
