Hurricane Helene is building in intensity and is expected to become a Category 3 or Category 4 storm when it makes landfall in Florida. All of the airlines issued waivers yesterday (more here) and now many are closing. A storm surge is expected for most of Florida’s Gulf Coast through the Florida Keys. In preparation for this storm, airports across the state are beginning to shut down.
Operations are currently normal at JAX. The airport will remain open while airlines continue to operate. If you have a flight scheduled over the next few days, check flight status with your airline for the most up-to-date information on your itinerary or for rebooking options.… pic.twitter.com/1lemwho4OH
