Finnair announced today that it is increasing frequency to four US destinations next summer. Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, and Los Angeles will all see 46% more flights with these additions. This will be Finnair’s largest US schedule ever.

Here are the updated frequencies from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL):

  • Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) increases from 5x to 7x weekly
  • Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) increases from 6x to 11x weekly
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) increases from 3x to 5x weekly
  • Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) increases from 3x to 5x weekly

Finnair will continue to fly to New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) 7x weekly next summer. All of the airports that Finnair will fly to offer easy connections from its oneworld® partners American and Alaska (between them they operate hubs in all of these locations). Finnair’s Chief Revenue Officer, Christine Rovelli, said:

Increasing our capacity to the United States brings our customers excellent connectivity to North America and beyond. Customers can connect via Dallas and Chicago to our partner American Airlines’ extensive network in North and South America, while Seattle and Los Angeles offer a gateway to for example other parts of the West Coast and Hawaii, through our partners American Airlines and Alaska Airlines.”

Anthony’s Take: Helsinki is a beautiful city and we enjoyed our trip there several years ago. It’s now easier than ever to get to Finland and explore the city as well as the country around it.
