EGYPTAIR announced today that it’s planning to move to the upcoming Terminal One at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) when it opens in 2026. With its operations being housed there, the Star Alliance member airline will join Turkish Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, EVA Air, Air New Zealand, and Air China in addition to many others who have committed to occupying the new facility.

When it’s completed in 2030, Terminal One will be the largest terminal at JFK. The terminal is being built on sites now occupied by the current Terminal One, the recently closed Terminal Two, and the former Terminal Three. When completed, it will include expansive departures and arrivals halls as well as 23 gates in total. This a huge part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion transformation of the airport, which includes two new terminals along with the modernization and expansion of two existing terminals, a new ground transportation center, and a new roadway network. It will also feature a selection of retail that is being compared to Fifth Avenue and New York City’s iconic markets. EGYPTAIR flies daily to Cairo International Airport (CAI) using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

EGYPTAIR also flies to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) in the United States.

Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR, said:

We are so pleased to join the New Terminal One at JFK, which represents an important step in our growth strategy to serve our customers better. For us, it’s not just about moving people from one place to another — it’s about connecting cultures, families, and experiences. As Egypt’s national airline, we can’t wait to welcome even more travelers to explore the history, beauty, and warm hospitality of Egypt through our nonstop flights to and from New York.”

Anthony’s Take: The new Terminal One looks gorgeous and will serve as a great welcome to the United States for many travelers. I can’t wait to check it out and be free of the horrible traffic at JFK.
