Delta Air Lines will distribute $1.3 billion to employees worldwide as part of its 2025 profit-sharing program. This translates to an estimated 8.9% of eligible annual earnings and averaging more than four weeks of extra pay. The announcement marks one of the airline’s largest payouts and continues a long-standing tradition of sharing profits directly with staff.
Profit Sharing Day, held annually on February 13th, serves as a celebration of Delta’s people-first culture and recognizes the workforce’s role in the airline’s financial performance. Under the company’s structure, employees receive 10% of the first $2.5 billion in profits and 20% above that threshold. This year’s total ranks among the top five payouts in Delta history and is expected to exceed the combined profit-sharing of other US airlines.

Since 2022, Delta will have returned nearly $5 billion in profits to its workforce (equivalent to more than 18 weeks of pay) reinforcing the company’s view that investing in employees directly contributes to operational and financial success.
