Delta Air Lines announced that it’s ready for summer travel with dining upgrades, a refreshed wine program, and expanded meal choices across cabins. From the first-ever nonstop US flight to Sicily to the return of Shake Shack burgers at 30,000 feet, Delta is redefining in-flight dining.

Delta One® Culinary Updates

In May, Delta launched its first-ever nonstop service from New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Catania-Fontanarossa Airport (CTA) in Sicily. The new Delta One® menu on this route offers regional Italian dishes like Spinach and Ricotta Rotolo with Cherry Tomato Sauce and Fried Basil Leaves. This month, Delta One® passengers can enjoy new seasonal dishes that highlight summer’s freshest ingredients, including handmade Artichoke Ravioli with Panna Sauce, Roasted Cherry Tomatoes, and Parmesan. Dishes by James Beard Award-winning Chef Mashama Bailey, originally offered only on select flights from Atlanta, are now available on additional international and domestic routes. Her Shrimp and Grits with Spicy Creole Sauce and Scallions is deemed a winner by Delta passengers and led to its rollout on a larger scale.

Delta Wine

Wine Refresh Across Cabins

Delta’s award-winning Delta One® wine program is getting its quarterly refresh. Curated by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson, the new lineup includes five varietals on both international and domestic routes. Delta will also continue its partnership with Champagne Taittinger and expand its collaboration with Une Femme, a women-owned wine brand. New still wine cans including a Chardonnay and Red Blend are now available in Delta Comfort and Main Cabin, alongside Une Femme’s flagship sparkling wine, The Betty, which is served across all cabins.

Andrea Robinson, Master Sommelier and Delta Wine Consultant, said:

The wonderful thing about travel is that we experience new places, cultures and culinary explorations. Delta does a great job bringing that ethos onboard with their wine program highlighting both classic regions as well as up-and-comers.”

Delta Comfort

Adding Choice to Delta Comfort

As of May 2025, Delta Comfort customers on international flights can select their meals in advance. Choices like Chipotle Chicken or Mushroom Mezzaluna are on offer. The advanced meal selection opens seven days prior to departure and closes 24 hours before takeoff. This helps to ensure Delta Comfort passengers get the meals they’re craving.

Farmers Fridge Delta

Farmer’s Fridge, Cheez-It®, and SunChips: Crowd Favorites Return

Delta is listening to customer cravings. Following a successful trial, Farmer’s Fridge is now the standard Fresh Flight Fuel option on flights over 1,500 miles departing from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Cheez-It® baked snack crackers, SunChips Garden Salsa, and the airline’s classic Biscoff cookie round out the summer snack lineup.

Shake Shack Delta

Shake Shack at 30,000 Feet: Expanded to 13 Markets

Delta’s partnership with Shake Shack keeps expanding. Last month, I wrote about how burgers were being served from 12 airports. As of early July, the iconic ShackBurger® is now available to Delta First customers on flights over 900 miles from 13 cities, including all of Delta’s major hubs.

The onboard Shake Shack Cheeseburger includes 100% Angus beef, a toasted potato bun, and ShackSauce with toppings for DIY assembly. It’s served with Crinkle Cut Potato Chips (inspired by Shake Shack’s beloved fries), and a chocolate brownie with cocoa nibs and sea salt (crafted by Shake Shack’s culinary team as a nod to their Shack Attack dessert).

Stephanie Laster, Managing Director of Onboard Culinary Experience at Delta, added:

Summer is a season of adventure and relaxation for many of our customers. It’s a time when indulgence takes center stage, which we actively work to extend to the food, meals and beverages that enhance the journey. With this in mind, we’re excited to evolve our onboard offerings monthly, rolling out fresh new flavors and options that match what customers tell us they want.”

Anthony’s Take: I find the food that Delta serves to be quite good (for the most part). I love that the menus are being updated across cabins and hope to have another ShackBurger® soon.
