United has its MileagePlus Exclusives with concert tickets, dinners, trips, and more. Marriott has its Bonvoy Moments™ (a holdover from SPG) that offers incredible experiences and access to tons around the world. Today, Delta has announced that it’s relaunching its Delta SkyMiles Experiences platform on November 18th with even more opportunities for members to redeem miles for once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
SkyMiles Experiences was originally launched in 2016. With the relaunch, members will still be able to bid miles on experiences and they’ll also be able to instantly access experiences using miles (a sort of “Buy It Now” option. In addition, Delta is adding more experiences than ever across music, film, food, travel, and more.
Members will soon find five Collections: Music & Film, Sports, Culinary, Wellness & Adventure, and Fashion, Art & Design. New experiences will land bi-weekly with some available to instantly purchase with miles and others up for bid. Next year, Delta will celebrate its centennial year and members can expect even more opportunities.
Some upcoming experiences include:
- Behind the scenes access to Starbucks with a VIP tour of the original Starbucks store in Pike Place Market and the opportunity to taste and roast coffee with a Starbucks coffee master.
- Celebrate Christmas with the Rockettes with a private dance class where you’ll learn the Rockettes choreography. Afterward, celebrate the season with the Christmas Spectacular® at Radio City Music Hall®.
- SkyMiles members can bid on four packages across four luxury Hilton properties. These experiences include private dinners for two in the wine caves at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach to an immersive mixology class at the Conrad Orlando and more.
Dwight James, SVP – Customer Engagement & Loyalty at Delta, said:
Being a SkyMiles Member is about more than traveling from place to place – it’s about being part of an exclusive ecosystem of opportunities tailored to your ambitions. With Delta’s new SkyMiles Experiences platform, we are bringing even more value to our Members while providing creative opportunities that inspire them to explore, discover and connect – even when they’re not flying with us.”
Anthony’s Take: I love being able to bid miles for experiences. I can buy flights, but these experiences are often not available for purchase or ways to redeem miles for luxe trips, shows, dinners, and more.

Anthony, this would be more realistic pitch if you detailed actual experiences you’ve taken that were worth the miles. In fact, I find it odd no one on these blogs seems to recount a great trip they’ve won with miles or points. This reads to me more like a paid endorsement.
Delta Experiences would need to step it up IMHO as the two auctions I’ve won (a Napa Wine Experience and a Delta Suite Baseball Game) were NOT worth the miles – they were simply access to their sponsored events where they give away their tickets, promised VIP food/beverage that were not VIP food/beverage, and actually discovered that these were over-booked events where everyone else there had free “industry” access passes too, and – ultimately – realized you get what you pay for…
I can assure you that it’s not paid. I have had great experiences across United, Delta, and Marriott when bidding miles. I booked a food event a few years ago through Delta and the tickets would have cost over $1,500.
