Delta Air Lines announced today that it will begin serving burgers from Shake Shack out of Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in domestic First Class beginning on December 1st. This partnership will expand into other markets throughout 2025.
They might not be particularly luxe, but a cheeseburger is one of my favorite choices when it’s offered in First Class. In the past, I have reviewed the burger that United was serving along with French fries as well as what Delta was offering in head-to-head battle (review here). I’m excited to have a Shake Shack burger at 30,000 feet and am a big fan of Danny Meyer’s burger chain (going back to when it opened in 2004). My office was near Madison Square Park and I’d pop over there frequently. I’ve found Shake Shack locations all over including a surprise one in Istanbul. Tampa International Airport (TPA) just got its own location.
Starting December 1st, First Class on routes over 900 miles will be able to preselect a Shake Shack Cheeseburger as their meal selection. You can customize your burger to create the signature ShackBurger, with toppings like tomato, lettuce and Shake Shack’s famous ShackSauce, all served on the side. The meal also features chips, a Caesar salad, and a dark chocolate brownie reminiscent of Shack Attack flavors from some of the brand’s dessert offerings.
Michael Kark, President of Global Licensing at Shake Shack, said:
At Shake Shack, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to meet our guests where they are, even at 35,000 feet. Taking our beloved cheeseburger to new heights, Shake Shack is proud to partner with Delta as we elevate the in-flight dining and hospitality experience for travelers across the country.”
Stephanie Laster, Managing Director of Onboard Service at Delta, added:
A delicious cheeseburger is an iconic comfort food – our customers know that which is why burgers are one of the top ordered menu items we offer, and we’re thrilled to elevate the offering with Shake Shack. However, our partnership with Shake Shack goes beyond the burger. Shake Shack’s people-first culture and commitment to enriching their neighborhoods are spot on with our own brand values of service excellence and helping the communities we serve.”
Anthony’s Take: I can’t wait to have a Shake Shack burger on board a Delta Flight. I’ll report back with a taste test when I get to sample one of my favorite comfort foods.
