Tampa International Airport (TPA) is my home airport for half of the year. Delta Air Lines currently operates out of Concourse E, but will be moving into the new Airside D once it is completed in 2028. Leaked information confirmed that Delta will occupy six of the 16 gates and will be one of two lounges in the new terminal.

The information was leaked today and then quickly pulled down by Tampa International Airport (TPA).
Airside D will be a 16-gate, airside terminal that will serve as the international arrivals and departures facility for Tampa International Airport (TPA). It will be the largest of Tampa’s airside terminals and measure 600,015 square feet. In addition to the two lounges (one of which we now know will measure 18,000 square feet and house a Delta Sky Club®), Airside D will offer:
- 16 gates
- a new shuttle system and guideway
- international passenger arrival processing facilities
- new stores and restaurants
Most international airlines that are currently housed in Terminal F will relocate there. These include:
- British Airways
- Cayman Airways
- Copa Airlines
- Discover Airlines
- Edelweiss Air
- Porter Airlines
- Virgin Atlantic
- WestJet
Delta Air Lines will be the only US carrier operating an international flight from Tampa International Airport (TPA) with its nonstop flights to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). It makes sense for Delta Air Lines to have a Sky Club® since it currently has one in Terminal E. This lounge would then cover Delta and Virgin Atlantic (and likely Aeromexico). If Air France or KLM ever started service, I could see them also moving here. It will have a gate connected directly to the lounge for direct boarding (like what Delta has in the Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) Sky Club®). The other possibilities could be American Airlines since it also currently has a lounge in Terminal F and this would be shared with British Airways. United Airlines does not currently have a lounge in Tampa, but could add one given that Air Canada, Copa, Discover, and Edelweiss Air all fly to/from here (although it might be tight gate-wise).
Delta Air Lines will have a five-year lease with options for three five-year renewals (20 years in total). Delta can finance the Sky Club® and gate area buildouts through the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority by borrowing up to $37.5 million at 5.3% interest and repaying it over a 60-month period.
Anthony’s Take: I love Tampa International Airport (TPA)! I’m excited for the new terminal and to see which other airline is going to operate a a lounge here. It will likely be some time before we see full announcements given that the terminal is not opening until 2028, but more leaks could come out.
