Delta Air Lines first announced that it was collaborating with Shake Shack for an in-flight burger back in December 2024. The limited test was expanded to five airports in March 2025. Now, Delta is going to offer these burgers from 12 airports around the country. This lets First Class passengers on flights over 900 miles pre-order the burgers on more routes and enjoy these tasty treats across the United States.
They might not be particularly luxe, but a cheeseburger is one of my favorite choices when it’s offered in First Class. I tried the Shake Shack offering back in April and loved having it in flight. I’m excited to be able to have a Shake Shack burger at 30,000 feet from more airports and am a big fan of Danny Meyer’s burger chain (going back to when it opened in 2004). My office was near Madison Square Park and I’d pop over there frequently. I’ve found Shake Shack locations all over, including a surprise one in Istanbul.
The expanded list of airports where these can be pre-ordered from includes:
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
- Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
- Miami International Airport (MIA)
- Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP)
- New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
- New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
- Orlando International Airport (MCO)
- Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC)
- San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
When I had it, the Shake Shack Burger was served deconstructed with the Shack Sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles on the side. Ketchup and mustard were also provided. The tray included a Caesar salad, Miss Vickie’s Sea Salt chips, and a Dark Chocolate Brownie (also branded Shake Shack). The burger was delicious and almost as good as what you can get on the ground. The bun was soft, the cheese was melted but not overly so, and the meat was tender. The sides fit the burger perfectly.
Anthony’s Take: I love this partnership and hope to have another Shake Shack burger soon. It’s great that there are now so many more opportunities to try out this treat while flying.
