Delta Air Lines is continuing to expand its service at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) with new flights to Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) this fall. It’s also resuming service from Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) to San Diego International Airport (SAN) and Sacramento International Airport (SMF).
Austin is not a Delta hub, but the carrier considers it a focus city. Currently, Delta offers flights between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and:
- Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL): 10x daily
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS): 3x daily
- Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW): 4x daily
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): 4x daily
- Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP): 4x daily
- New York John F. Kennedy International Airport: 4x daily
- Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU): 2x daily
- Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC): 4x daily
- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA): 3x daily
Daily flights to both Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) will start on October 9th. Delta will operate these flights using Airbus A320-200s. These routes are not currently served by Delta, but Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Spirit Airlines all serve Las Vegas, while American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Spirit Airlines fly to Orlando.
Delta is the fourth largest airline at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). The carrier flew more than 750,000 passengers from Austin between January and April (behind Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and United Airlines).
Las Vegas service from both San Diego International Airport (SAN) and Sacramento International Airport (SMF) will be flown on Embraer E-175 aircraft. San Diego will be offered 2x daily and Sacramento has one daily flight.
Anthony’s Take: Las Vegas is one of my favorite places and its great that Delta is connecting more people from non-hubs to Sin City.
