Delta Air Lines added two seasonal routes to run through the holidays this year. One offers access to the slopes while the other offers beach time between December 20th and January 4th.
The two routes include Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) to/from Vail’s Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to/from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ). The first route runs 1x daily using an Embraer E-175 aircraft with 12 First Class, 20 Delta Comfort, and 38 Delta Main seats. The second route will also fly 1x daily with a Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft. It offers 12 First Class, 20 Delta Comfort, and 38 Delta Main seats.
Anthony’s Take: Both routes will be at peak demand for both skiing or wam weather over the holidays. The Vail route is served by American and United out of the NYC-area while Sun Country flies to Vail from Minneapolis. Delta will take them all on with this add, but should have no problem filling the planes.
