Turkish Airlines confirmed yesterday that it is launching a new route between Denver International Airport (DEN) and Istanbul International Airport (IST). The flights will begin on June 11th with 3x weekly service before this bumps up to 4x weekly in July.

Turkish Airlines will use an Airbus A350-900 aircraft for this route with 32 Business Class and 297 Economy Class seats. Turkish Airlines flies to more countries than any other airline in the world including 13 in the United States. Its US destinations include:

  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
  • Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
  • Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)
  • Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • Miami International Airport (MIA)
  • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
  • New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
  • Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
  • Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

With the addition of Denver International Airport (DEN), Turkish Airlines will be flying to all of its Star Alliance partner, United Airlines’ hubs.

If you’re interested in this flight, now is a good time to book. Award space is wide open on this new route this summer. I just booked two tickets for this summer using United MileagePlus miles (88,000 per ticket). I’ll use this to connect within Europe on this trip and am excited to try out Turkish’ Airbus A350-900.

Anthony’s Take: This is exciting news for Denver locals as well as those looking to get to Istanbul and beyond. Turkish is renowned for its service and catering. I can’t wait for this flight.
