There have been a lot of announcements around airlines changing terminals at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) recently. Air Canada announced its future plans last week. The airline will join its fellow Star Alliance carriers in Terminal 6. Today, Condor shared that it will also be in the new Terminal 6 when it opens in 2026.

Condor A330

Condor is a German leisure airline that was established in 1955. You have likely seen its boldly painted planes at airports in Europe or the United States. Its base of operations is at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and it flies to Africa, Asia, North America, and South America. The airline has been expanding quite a bit in the past few years with lots of new longhaul flights.

Terminal 6 is a key element of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion transformation of New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with two new terminals, two expanded and modernized terminals, a new ground transportation center, and a simplified roadway. Condor has been flying to JFK since 2014 and operating out of Terminal 7.

The new Terminal 6 will offer a digital-first, boutique guest experience that provides less than five-minute average walks from the TSA security checkpoint to all of the terminal’s gates,100,000 square feet of NYC-inspired shopping, dining, lounges, and amenities.

Mikko Turtiainen, Director of Sales for the Americas at Condor:

As New York/JFK is one of our most important North American gateways, we are extremely thrilled to be moving into the new, state-of-the art T6. The boutique, curated guest experience of the new terminal is right in line with Condor’s brand DNA. Our eye-catching striped branding is representative of the diversity of destinations and guests we serve as well as our crew, and we are all about personalizing the guest experience. Condor passengers will also enjoy seamless connections to our partner JetBlue’s Terminal 5 operations, located just a short walk from T6 gates.”

Anthony’s Take: I can’t wait to check out the new Terminal 6 and the rest of the renovations at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK). I won’t be heading there anytime soon though as the construction and resulting traffic is horrendous.
