Chase Sapphire has been opening new lounges at a pretty rapid pace lately. First came the location in Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) (full review here). February saw the opening of both New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) (full review here). In March, the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) opened its doors (more here). Now, it looks like Chase is planning to open a location at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) within the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) near Gate 148.
The lounge will measure 9,234 square feet and construction has yet to begin on this lounge. This is a smaller space than most of the others Chase offers, but it will be a nice addition for passengers flying out of LAX. The Los Angeles Times broke the news of the lounge yesterday and shared that no opening date has been set.
Dana Pouwels, Head of Airport Lounge Benefits and Strategic Partnerships for Chase, said:
Los Angeles is home to many cardmembers and a popular destination among Chase travelers. And as a native Angeleno who frequently travels through LAX to visit home, I’m excited to bring a Chase Sapphire Lounge to my home city.”
Visitors can expect tarmac views alongside the food and beverage offerings they have come to expect in other locations under the Chase Sapphire Lounge umbrella. Five other locations are currently being planned, including Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), and San Diego International Airport (SAN), and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
Anthony’s Take: It’s great to see Chase expanding these lounges across more airports. American Express started the trend long ago, but Capital One and Chase have been upping the game for some time now.
Anthony’s Credit Card Pick: The Chase Sapphire Reserve® is a great premium card with lots of benefits including a $300 Annual Travel Credit as reimbursement for travel purchases charged to your card each account anniversary year; 1:1 point transfer to leading airline and hotel loyalty programs including Hyatt and United; 10
