Brussels Airlines will be rolling out a new long-haul Business Class experience next month. This includes more personalized service, new tableware, and a refreshed menu. The upgraded service will cover every aspect of the meal and flow of the onboard experience.
New tableware will feature organic, round shapes that are meant to feel elegant and natural. The dishes are inspired by Brussels Airlines’ uniforms with white, blue, and bronze accents.
The cutlery is said to be contoured to reflect the shape of the aircraft.
The meal service will also see some updates. Meals will be hand delivered to provide a more personal feel. This was inspired by the service of boutique hotels. Brussels Airlines launched a partnership with Chef Arabelle Meirlaen earlier this year. It will soon offer a more elaborate cheeseboard, dessert, and fresh-cut fruit.
Sandy Coenen, Brussels Airlines’ Inflight Product Manager, said:
At Brussels Airlines, we believe that travel is about more than just reaching your destination, it’s about creating unforgettable moments. Our new tableware collection is designed to enhance the onboard dining experience, combining elegance with functionality. By partnering with top Belgian culinary talents and using the finest ingredients, we aim to turn dining into a highlight of the journey. We are also offering more than just a service, we see it as an opportunity for our guests to connect with the crew in a personal and memorable way. This refined dining concept, reflects our dedication to offering the highest standards of comfort, sophistication, and hospitality.”
These onboard changes are the first phase of a huge overhaul of the passenger experience. The airline is investing more than €100 million in a next-generation cabins that will launch in 2027. This will go across Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class. THE LOFT lounge at Brussels Airport (BRU) will also be renovated for a refreshed ground experience.
Anthony’s Take: Brussels Airlines has always seemed to me like it lagged Lufthansa, SWISS, and Austrian in style and luxury. These investments will work to move it closer to the other airlines in the Lufthansa Group. I like the dishware and the changes to service sound like they will make the overall experience more luxe.
