BermudAir connects Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) to the United States and Canada. It had been flying to Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL), but this route has now gotten the axe. The flight launched in April and was flying 2x weekly.

The Bermudian airline currently serves the following cities in the United States:
- Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
- Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
- New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
- Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)
- Richmond International Airport (RIC)
- Westchester County Airport (HPN)
In Canada, BermudAir flies to/from:
- Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ)
- Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL)
- Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)
BermudAir’s departure marks the third airline to exit Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL) in recent months, following Avelo Airlines and Spirit Airlines. Earlier this year, Avelo announced plans to withdraw from the airport. This ended Connecticut’s only nonstop service to Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ). Officials accused the carrier of walking away from its financial commitments, but lack of demand was cited. Spirit Airlines also ceased operations there on October 31st after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time in under a year.
The Connecticut Airport Authority has pushed back against claims from the departing airlines that demand was too weak to sustain service. Officials maintain that passenger numbers on the discontinued routes were strong and highlight the airport’s competitive costs and prime location as key advantages for future airline partners.
Anthony’s Take: BermudAir continues to evolve and it feels like cities are added and cut pretty quickly. Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL) was showing some signs of growth, but with three airlines pulling out in recent months it looks like options will be more limited for local flyers.
