When Eastern Tennessee State University (ETSU) student golfers had boarded a plane to participate in the NCAA Championships (whether this was departure or return is unknown as details were not provided), they were surprised to see their valuable golf clubs being tossed, dropped, and generally mishandled by baggage workers on the ground below.

This has generated over one million views and tons of (understandably) outraged commenters who are calling for everything from boycotting Delta to relaying their own stories around baggage damage and loss.

Delta allows golf clubs to be checked as a standard item as long as they are packed as detailed above. The handling of these golf clubs is unacceptable and there is no excuse to be tossing bags like these handlers are seen doing.

Anthony’a Take: This is one of the many reasons why I never check bags. I hope Delta takes some corrective action here and that these handlers are retrained.

You never check bags? If you take golf clubs you do. Unless you use ShipSticks which can be exorbitantly expensive. Although probably cheaper than broken clubs:)
