Avelo Airlines abandoned the West Coast back in July. This week it made a few more cuts on the East Coast including two routes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and one from Islip’s Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP). Avelo is also pulling one of two aircraft that it housed in Raleigh.
The three routes getting the ax include:
- Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to/from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) (ends on January 6th)
- Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to/from Wilmington Airport (ILG) (ends on December 1st)
- Islip’s Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) to/from Lakeland Linder International Airport (LAL) (ends on November 29th)
Anthony’s Take: Avelo seems to be shrinking and pivoting its business to fly more immigration flights while focusing on the East Coast.
