Avelo Airlines has added four new cities to its route map. All four will be served from Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport (HVN) using Avelo’s Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.
New cities include:
- Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on March 7th)
- Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on April 4th)
- Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) (2x weekly on Mondays and Fridays; starts on February 14th)
- Portland International Jetport (PWM) (2x weekly on Sundays and Thursdays; starts on May 22nd)
The airline has made a bit of news lately. It announced last week that it was adding two new bases of operation at Charlotte’s Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) and Wilmington International Airport (ILM) plus eight new routes. Additionally, the low-cost carrier will launch its first two international flights from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).
Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO, Andrew Levy, said:
We love Connecticut and are excited to continue expanding our presence here with these five new exclusive destinations. With 39 route choices, Avelo offers Connecticut travelers more choice, affordability and convenience than any other airline operating in the state. And when you couple that with our industry-leading reliability, it doesn’t surprise us that nearly 3 million Customers have entrusted Avelo with their air travel since we took flight here three years ago. Avelo’s purpose is to Inspire Travel, and we are very optimistic about the opportunities ahead of us to make air travel easier, more affordable and more dependable for people across Connecticut.”
Anthony’s Take: I flew on the inaugural flight from Central Florida’s Lakeland International Airport (LAL) (review here) and enjoyed the experience, overall. It’s great to see Avelo Airlines continuing to grow and add international destinations.
