News broke today that American Express is opening a Centurion® Lounge at Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND). Few details have been released, but the lounge is expected to open in 2025.
The Centurion® Lounge at Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) will measure 7,352 square feet and seat 122 people. It will be located on the 4th floor of Terminal 3. This terminal is home to most of the carriers that fly to and from here, including:
- Air Canada
- Air China
- Air France
- American Airlines
- ANA
- Asiana Airlines
- British Airways
- China Eastern Airlines
- Delta Air Lines
- Emirates
- EVA Air
- Hawaiian
- Japan Airlines
- Juneyao Air
- Korean Air
- Lufthansa
- Qantas
- Qatar Airways
- Scandinavian Airlines
- Singapore Airlines
- THAI Airways
- Turkish Airlines
- United Airlines
The lounge will feature “designs that incorporate Japanese traditions, artisan culture, and art, and will also offer food and beverages that allow customers to experience Japanese food culture” and offer great views per this article. American Express operates 28 other lounges. The list can be found here along with some of my reviews.
Anthony’s Take: I am generally a fan of American Express’ lounges. While the quality has slipped at some since opening, they still provide good food, drinks, and spaces to work and relax. Crowding can be an issue and it will be interesting to see how this lounge (being on the smaller side) fares.
Anthony’s Credit Card Pick: I love the lounges where The Platinum Card® from American Express grants me access. It has had a prominent place in my wallet for many years now. While it does have an annual fee of $695, it provides many travel benefits and will always be my go-to for lounge access (both Delta Sky Clubs® and Centurion® Lounges) and booking airfare from the airlines to earn 5x points (up to $500,000 per calendar year booked directly with passenger airlines or through American Express Travel).
