American Airlines flight AA3921 between Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) was forced to divert yesterday after a 25-year-old passenger allegedly exposed himself and urinated in the aisle.

AA Diversion

The flight operated as American Eagle and operated by Envoy Air on an Embraer E190, saw Neil McCarthy of Portland, OR allegedly become intoxicated on Jack and Cokes before exposing himself to other passengers and urinating in public on board the aircraft. The crew diverted the plane to Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) where it was met by local law enforcement. The American Eagle flight was able to continue on to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) shortly after landing.

McCarthy was released after making an initial appearance in federal court in Buffalo (according to a release from the US Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York). According to NBC News, he told police that he has a medical urination problem. No further comment has been released from his federal public defender.

Anthony’s Take: Excessive alcohol and flights never mix well. This flight was scheduled for 8:10 AM. Jack and Coke seems like quite the choice at that time of day.
