Delta Air Lines serves Starbucks. United Airlines partners with illy. American Airlines is now redefining its inflight and lounge offerings through a new partnership with Lavazza, one of the world’s most prestigious Italian coffee brands. Beginning in early 2026, travelers will be able to enjoy Lavazza’s premium coffee blends across all cabins and at Flagship® and Admirals Club® lounges worldwide, marking the first time American will offer a unified coffee experience both on the ground and in the air.
Founded in 1895, Lavazza has built a global reputation for its dedication to the craft of coffee. The family-owned company blends Italian heritage with modern innovation, creating coffees celebrated for their balance, depth, and unmistakable flavor. Its premium blends are served in some of the world’s most renowned hotels and restaurants (making it a natural fit for American Airlines’ push towards a more premium service).
Starting in 2026, Lavazza coffee will be served across Main Cabin, Business Class, and Flagship® First. The same blends will also be available in American’s network of airport lounges. This ensures a consistent, high-quality coffee experience from check-in to arrival.
This initiative reflects American’s broader strategy to enhance comfort and personalization at every stage of travel. From menu upgrades to redesigned lounges and other upgraded onboard amenities, the airline is focused on curating experiences that resonate with the expectations of modern, discerning travelers.
Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer, said:
At American, we’re focused on looking at every aspect of the customer experience, and a quality cup of coffee is an important part of that journey. We’re proud to team up with this iconic brand to bring a rich, satisfying coffee experience to our customers — whether they’re in the air or relaxing in our lounges.”
Anthony’s Take: It’s great to see American continue to make itself more premium and better aligned with Delta and United in its coffee offerings. I don’t drink onboard coffee on any airline as the water tanks sketch me out, but this is a big improvement for coffee drinkers and American loyalists.
