For the first time in its history, American Airlines has partnered with a prestigious Champagne house. It’s joining forces with Champagne Bollinger (a family-owned Maison renowned for nearly two centuries of winemaking excellence and craftsmanship). This partnership represents a significant step in American’s ongoing commitment to a more premium offering.
Founded almost 200 years ago, Champagne Bollinger is revered for its time-honored traditions and signature focus on Pinot Noir, which sits at the heart of it’s distinctive style. Its flagship Special Cuvée is celebrated worldwide for its flavor, remarkable depth, and elegant character. The partnership officially launches today, with Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée becoming a central feature of the American Airlines premium journey.
Flagship® Lounge Greeting
Guests visiting the Flagship® Lounges in Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), and Miami International Airport (MIA) will now be greeted with a glass of Bollinger Special Cuvée upon arrival. This is a nice touch!
Exclusive In-Flight Experience
Beginning next month, Champagne Bollinger will be exclusively served in Flagship® First and Flagship® Business cabins on all flights to and from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). A broader rollout across additional international Flagship® routes will follow in the coming months.
In the weeks ahead, American Airlines plans to introduce Champagne Bollinger to additional premium spaces and services, including the Flagship® Lounges at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) as well as Admirals Club® locations systemwide (where it will be available for purchase).
The introduction of Bollinger is just one part of American’s broader vision to elevate the customer journey through thoughtful investments in luxury services and infrastructure. Other key initiatives include world-class dining experiences curated by renowned chefs, new Flagship® locations planned for Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Miami International Airport (MIA), as well as enhanced onboard amenities.
This all makes me think of Edina and Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous chugging the Champagne. The actresses visited the Maison in the video above. American is stepping it up to be in line with what Delta Air Lines (Taittinger Champagne) and United Airlines (Champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuvée) are serving.
Heather Garboden, American’s Chief Customer Officer, said:
At American, our focus is on elevating the experience for our customers and we’re excited to announce this partnership with Champagne Bollinger. A House as storied as Bollinger is the perfect fit for American on the eve of our centennial year.”
Anthony’s Take: This is great news. I love bubbles and Bollinger is a great choice. Cheers, American.

A premium experience is not just in the pointy end but this is a move in the right direction for sure. Now if American management can just avoid shooting themselves in the crank as they usually do after making an improvement it’ll be nice to see genuine progress.
