Allegiant Air is closing its base at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on September 2nd. The low-cost carrier cited unsustainable operating costs that have reached around $50 per departing passenger. While Allegiant will still serve Los Angeles (for now), it’s cutting nine routes with more likely coming.

• Kalispell (FCA)
• Laredo (LRD)
• Medford (MFR)
• Memphis (MEM)
• Pasco (PSC)
• Rapid City (RAP)

- Billings Logan International Airport (BIL)
- Des Moines International Airport (DSM)
- Glacier Park International Airport (FCA)
- Laredo International Airport (LRD)
- Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport (MFR)
- Memphis International Airport (MEM)
- Pasco’s Tri-Cities Airport (PSC)
- Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP)
- Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD)
Routes are either ending in May or not returning altogether.
Anthony’s Take: Let’s see how many more routes Allegiant cuts from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Between passenger and labor costs, these flights were not sustainable.
