Allegiant Air added seven new routes to its map and will begin serving Fort Myers’ Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) for the first time in the airline’s history. New routes are all slated to begin in November.
Florida is going to see lots of love this winter with six of the seven headed to the Sunshine State. New routes include:
- Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) to/from Fort Myers’ Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) (2x weekly; starts on November 13th)
- Appleton International Airport (ATW) to/from Fort Myers’ Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) (2x weekly; starts on November 21st)
- Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) to/from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) (2x weekly; starts on November 20th)
- Des Moines International Airport (DSM) to/from Fort Myers’ Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) (2x weekly; starts on November 21st)
- Nashville International Airport (BNA) to/from Gulf Shores International Airport/Jack Edwards Field (GUF) (2x weekly; starts on November 20th)
- Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to/from Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) (2x weekly; starts on November 21st)
- Toledo Express Airport (TOL) to/from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) (2x weekly; starts on November 20th)
Demand for flights to Florida remains strong and it’s great to see Allegiant connecting travelers to airports other than where most of the traffic goes to at Miami International Airport (MIA) and Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Drew Wells, Allegiant’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:
This expansion reflects our commitment to connecting underserved communities with affordable, convenient travel options. By adding Fort Myers and increasing service to multiple beach cities, we’re providing travelers nonstop access to sunny destinations, meaning they spend less time at the airport and more time on vacation.”
Anthony’s Take: If you’re looking to head to the panhandle or West Coast of Florida, Allegiant Air has some new routes to get you there this winter.

they were flying in and out of Punta Gorda, just North of RSW. This ties in with their disastrous Sunseeker Resort which they finally dumped at a $500 million hit.
Do due diligence and avoid Allegiant Air.
