Allegiant Air is adding five new nonstop routes this fall. The ultra low-cost carrier continues to focus on leisure traffic from small and medium-sized cities with the latest additions being no exception.

New routes include:

  • Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF) to/from Appleton International Airport (ATW) (2x weekly; starts on October 2nd)

  • McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) to/from Key West International Airport (EYW) (2x weekly; starts on October 3rd)

Drew Wells, Allegiant’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:

This expansion caters to passengers and communities we feel have been overlooked by other carriers. Allegiant’s unique business model, connecting small-to-medium sized cities to vacation destinations, creates accessible travel options not otherwise available in what we believe are underserved markets. We know travelers enjoy the convenience of nonstop flights departing from their neighborhood airport.”

In addition to the new routes above, Allegiant will offer some limited flights to/from Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) for the NFL season. These include:

  • Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) for the Bears versus the Raiders Week 4 showdown. Flights depart on September 26th and return on September 29th.
  • Nashville International Airport (BNA) for the Titans versus the Raiders in Week 6. Flights will depart on October 10th and return on October 13th.
  • Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) for the Browns versus the Raiders in Week 12. Flights will depart on November 21st and return on November 24th.

Anthony’s Take: I’ve never flown Allegiant Air. They fly to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) not too far from me. I’ve heard mixed things, but might check them out one day.
