Alaska is Bringing TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID to Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle

American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines already partner with the TSA for its PreCheck® Touchless ID. As I wrote about last month, American has rolled this out at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Delta is tied to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA). United offers it at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Now, Alaska is partnering with the TSA to roll out PreCheck® Touchless ID for its passengers at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Portland International Airport (PDX), and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

If Alaska Mileage Plan members want to participate, they must be at least 18 years of age and provide Alaska with the following:

  • MileagePlan number
  • Valid passport information
  • Known Traveler Number (KTN)

This can be handled on alaskaair.com and once registered, members will see a green icon that signifies participation in PreCheck® Touchless ID.

Anthony’s Take: I have used this program several times with United and it has saved me time at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). I think it will eventually replace CLEAR Plus (I kind of hope it does). I look forward to this rolling out at more airports.
