Air France officially opened its first-ever lounge at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) this weekend. It offers travelers a new space to relax and work before their flights. Located in Terminal 5, the new space highlights the airline’s signature blend of French elegance and hospitality.

Spanning a little more than 5,000 square feet, the lounge can accommodates 105 guests and welcomes Air France Business Class passengers, Flying Blue Elite Plus members, eligible KLM travelers, and SkyTeam Elite Plus members (as well as Priority Pass members during certain hours). Operated in partnership with Global Lounge Network, it is open daily from 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM.

The design, developed by Air France’s in-house teams alongside SGK Brandimage, pays homage to the airline’s heritage and is consistent with its other lounges. The décor features Air France’s iconic winged seahorse emblem and archival travel posters that celebrate the brand’s legacy. The color palette is deep blue, white, and red. This reflects the company’s identity while creating an atmosphere that feels both contemporary and distinctly French.

High ceilings, soft natural light, and expansive bay windows provide uninterrupted views of the runways, infusing the lounge with a sense of space and serenity. The carefully curated furniture, with its smooth lines and inviting textures, ensures a premium level of comfort for every guest.

At the heart of the lounge is a culinary area that celebrates the art of French dining. The open, convivial space includes nearly 40 seats and a large shared table that invites guests to savor gourmet dishes crafted with care. The menu evolves throughout the day, offering hot and cold, sweet and savory options, including Beef Bourguignon, Country-style Chicken, and Chocolate Mousse with Caramel Cream.

Air France emphasizes a sustainable approach to dining, sourcing local and seasonal ingredients, minimizing waste, and providing water fountains to reduce single-use plastic. Every detail underscores the airline’s commitment to quality, flavor, and environmental responsibility.

Adjacent to the dining area, the bar evokes the charm of grand Parisian hotels. Whether self-service or attended by a bartender, it features a curated selection of champagne, French wines, and premium spirits, offering travelers a final taste of France before departure.

Within the lounge, Flying Blue Ultimate members can access a private area. The dedicated space features four plush seats and personalized amenities to offer exclusivity and privacy while remaining within reach of all core lounge services.

The lounge is equipped with multiple seating areas catering to different needs including quiet corners for relaxation, ergonomic setups for work, and cozy nooks with runway views. A work zone with individual desks and a private call booth ensure productivity and discretion for business travelers.

Guests can also enjoy free Wi-Fi, television screens, USB ports and power outlets at nearly every seat, and access to digital press and magazines through the Air France Press app.

The new lounge underscores Air France’s ongoing investment in enhancing its premium ground experience and expanding its footprint in North America. This winter, the airline operates up to seven weekly flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) (flown by the Airbus A350).

Anthony’s Take: I’m excited to have a new lounge in my home airport and the photos look gorgeous. Looking forward to checking this one out.
