Miami International Airport (MIA) has long been criticized for its limited lounge options. Air France passengers will soon see this remedied as the French carrier has plans to build out a new space in 2028. Lucky at One Mile at a Time first caught wind of this news.

The new Air France lounge will be located on Level 3 of Concourse H and is part of the airline’s broader investment in its US network. When completed, Miami will join six other cities in the United States with Air France lounges, including:

  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
  • Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
  • Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

The proposed design includes 7,400 square feet of space with a 1,000-square-foot outdoor terrace. This will be a first for any airport lounge at Miami International Airport (MIA). I love these at other lounges like the Delta Sky Club® at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and it will be great for Miami to have this option.

While specific design details remain undisclosed, Air France’s lounges always have a chic aesthetic and great food (even at outstation airports).

Expected highlights include:

  • An exclusive First Class section for La Première passengers (as Miami is served by Air France aircraft featuring the airline’s flagship First Class cabin)
  • A curated menu of high-quality French cuisine and wines
  • Thoughtfully designed interiors that blend modern luxury with a distinctly Parisian touch

Air France currently operates one daily flight between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) during the summer and two daily flights during the busier winter season. Until the new lounge opens, Air France’s premium passengers and Flying Blue elite members will continue to use the Delta Sky Club®.

Anthony’s Take: Miami International Airport (MIA) is one of my least favorite airports. I’m happy to see that Air France, American Airlines, British Airways, and an unnamed credit card issuer all have plans to dramatically change the lounge scene.
