Air Canada is Boosting its Winter Network With 55 Routes to Sunny Destinations

Air Canada announced today that it’s offering 55 Caribbean and US vacation destinations for those seeking the sun during the 2024-2025 winter season. This winter, Air Canada will have up to 50 flights departing Canada every day and headed to some place warm including new flights to Saint Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) and Tulum International Airport (TQO).

Montreal

Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL)

Travelers flying from Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) will see five routes with increased frequencies along with two new ones. These include:

  • Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (FDF) (increases from 5x to 6x weekly)
  • Miami International Airport (MIA) (increases from 2x to 3x daily)
  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) (increases from 2x to 4x weekly)
  • Providenciales International Airport (PLS) (increases from 2x to 3x weekly)
  • Saint Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) (new route will run 1x weekly)
  • San José’s Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) (increases from 3x weekly to 1x daily)
  • Tulum International Airport (TQO) (new route will run 5x weekly)

Ottawa

Ottawa/Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW)

Passengers originating in Ottawa/Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW) will have four expanded frequencies and one new route this coming winter. These include:

  • Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) (increases from 4x to 6x weekly)
  • Orlando International Airport (MCO) (increases from 2x to 4x weekly)
  • Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) (increases from 3x to 4x weekly)
  • Tampa International Airport (TPA) (increases from 1x to 2x weekly)
  • Tulum International Airport (TQO) (new route will run 1x weekly)

Toronto

Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)

Passengers traveling from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) will see five routes with increased frequency and one new one this coming winter. These include:

  • Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) (increases from 3x to 4x weekly)
  • Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) (increases from 3x to 5x weekly)
  • New Orleans Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) (increases from 4x to 5x weekly)
  • Saint Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) (increases from 2x to 4x weekly)
  • Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) (increases from 3x to 4x weekly)
  • Tulum International Airport (TQO) (new route will run 4x weekly)

Other Increased Frequencies:

In addition to the new and expanded routes above, Air Canada is going to increase flights between these cities:

  • Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) to/from Tampa International Airport (TPA) (increases from 2x to 3x weekly)
  • Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to/from Cancún International Airport (CUN) (increases from 1x to 2x daily)

Anthony’s Take: Canadians (and Americans looking for often less expensive tickets) will have a lot of options this winter when looking to escape the cold.
