Back in February, I wrote about Aeromexico‘s plans for daily, nonstop service between Mexico City’s Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juarez (MEX) and Tampa International Airport (TPA). It began today (July 1st). I’m excited for this one. Mexico City is a great place for food and culture. We visited several years ago and I have wanted to go back since then.

The inaugural flight departed Tampa International Airport (TPA) today with some festivities at the airport. The flights will run daily using an Embraer E190 aircraft. Aeromexico will fly this route with 11 Clase Premier (Business Class) and 88 Main Cabin seats.

In addition to the new flights to/from Tampa International Airport (TPA), Aeromexico also began daily service to/from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) on Embraer E190 aircraft and to/from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on a Boeing 737 MAX 8 with 16 Clase Premier (Business Class), 18 AM Plus, and 88 Main Cabin seats.

With these additions, the Aeromexico-Delta alliance will offer more than 90 flights per day between Mexico and the United States, covering nearly 60 routes directly connecting 24 destinations in the United States with 13 cities in Mexico.

Anthony’s Take: It’s good to see this alliance continue to expand with some new routes to make connections between the US and Mexico that much more seamless.
