Irish carrier, Aer Lingus, announced this week that it’s adding three new destinations and significantly increasing its capacity on European routes to several vacation destinations. The airline’s winter schedule will offers a mix of cultural, historical, and places for sun seekers.
New Cities Served
Aer Lingus is adding flights from Dublin Airport (DUB) to three new destinations. These include:
- Malta International Airport (MLA) (3x weekly; starts on October 25th)
- Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) (3x weekly; starts on October 25th)
- Seville Airport (SVQ) (3x weekly; starts on October 26th)
All three of the new routes will be operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft with 174 Economy Class seats. I’ve never been to Marrakesh, but Malta and Seville are great places to explore. I thoroughly enjoyed both. My tips for Seville can be found here.
Frequency Increases and Season Extensions
The airline is also making many tweaks to the frequencies of some of its routes as well as extending others through the winter. These include:
- Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport (ALC) (4x weekly through November; restarts in early March 2025)
- Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH) (2x weekly through December; restarts in early March 2025)
- Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport (BOD) (shifting from 4x to 5x weekly)
- Dubrovnik Ruđer Bošković Airport (DBV) (2x weekly through November; restarts in early March 2025)
- Faro International Airport (FAO) (4x weekly; extended to be a year-round destination for the first time since 2018)
- İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) (2x weekly; extended until December 2024)
- César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport (ACE) (adding four weekly flights to then operate 2x daily)
- Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) (4x weekly through November; restarts in early March 2025)
- Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) (3x weekly through November; restarts in early March 2025)
- Tenerife South Airport (TFS) (adding two weekly flights to then operate 8x weekly)
Anthony’s Take: Aer Lingus is giving those looking for a winter holiday lots of options this year. All fares are now loaded for sale and many of them are rather inexpensive.
