Delta One® is Delta’s premium long-haul Business Class product. The airline opened lounges last year akin to what United offers with its Polaris® Lounges or American’s Flagship® Lounges (but much more elevated than either of those two). Locations opened in New York John F Kennedy International Airport (my review here) first, followed by Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) are on the way, but that was all that had been announced. Anyone who knows Delta’s hubs will immediately see one giant, gaping hole. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) was not scheduled for a lounge, largely due to Delta’s extreme dominance there. That is, until now. A Delta® One Lounge is reportedly on the way.

The Points Guy broke the news that Delta will open one of its ultra-luxe sanctuaries over the next few years. A firm timeline has not been established nor has a location been revealed (international flights use Concourses E and F, so those seem most likely).

Claude Roussel, Delta’s Vice President of Delta Sky Clubs and Lounge Experience, told TPG:

We are working on the Delta One Lounge in Atlanta. There are a couple of areas that we have under review now. I’m not going to tell you now because it might change, but it will be a stand-alone Delta One® Lounge.”

This is exciting news for Atlanta-based flyers or the tons of people that connect there (generally all roads seem to lead to Atlanta when connecting). Delta has so far upped the lounge game considerably and I can’t wait to see what this location will offer.

Anthony’s Take: The world’s busiest airport and Delta’s largest hub should offer a Delta One® Lounge and it will over the next few years.
