Police are investigating the suspicious death of an American Airlines flight attendant who was found dead in her room at the Marriott Philadelphia Airport. The woman was supposed to check out two days earlier and was found by cleaning crew.
ABC 11 is reporting that the 66-year-old flight attendant was Los Angeles based and had worked for American Airlines for over 25 years. The discovery was made around 10:45 PM on Monday night and police were called to the scene. There were no signs of forced entry, no signs of a struggle, and no weapons in the room. Oddly, the woman did have a sock stuffed in her mouth. Several sealed bottles of prescription medicine were also found in the room, but a connection has not been determined.
American Airlines released a brief statement:
The well-being of our team members is our top priority, and we will ensure that all those affected by this tragic loss have the support they need.”
Anthony’s Take: I find it odd that housekeeping did not try to enter the room for two days after the woman was supposed to check out. This death has been deemed suspicious, so an investigation will be conducted. I’m not sure how the sock fits in, but I’m sure we’ll hear more once everything is figured out. My condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues.
