Delta Air Lines will suspend its service between New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Geneva Airport (GVA) this winter. I first wrote about this back in March (more here).
The carrier will not operate flight DL100 between New York and Geneva from October 28th through March 29th. It looks like Delta is directing new ticket sales to connections on its joint venture partners Air France and KLM in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). The 767-300ER used to fly this route normally will be used elsewhere this winter.
This is just one of six routes that will not operate this winter. The other five include:
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Dusseldorf International Airport (DUS)
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to Stuttgart Airport (STR)
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (CPH)
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN)
Delta released a statement in March that read:
Delta is making routine adjustments in six transatlantic markets from Atlanta and New York-JFK as the demand environment for winter travel becomes more clear. These markets will shift to seasonal service.”
Back in January, Delta announced that it was shifting the JFK to Geneva and Berlin routes from seasonal to year round. That change has been rolled back.
Anthony’s Take: It will be interesting to see how many other routes are suspended or cancelled in the next few months across airlines. The demand for leisure travel had to lessen at some point and it seems like it’s starting to soften in the generally slower winter season.

So annoying as I purchased a ticket for December 20, 2023! I was to avoid a connecting flight, but now I’ll have no choice. Boo!
Ugh. That is annoying.
