JetBlue and United Airlines have launched the next part of their Blue Sky collaboration. It’s now possible for travelers to book flights from either carrier directly through their preferred airline channels.
Starting this week, customers can purchase eligible itineraries operated by either airline directly on either airlines’ mobile apps or sites. For the first time, travelers can book flights on either carrier using cash, points, or miles. When searching on either airline’s website or app, customers will now begin to see expanded flight options from both JetBlue and United. This allows travelers to compare schedules, prices, and loyalty redemption opportunities in one place.
The airlines expect to introduce an additional enhancement in the future: the ability to book a single itinerary that includes flights operated by both JetBlue and United to further streamline the travel planning experience.
This latest rollout follows the successful launch of reciprocal loyalty earning and redemption in 2025, which allowed members of TrueBlue and MileagePlus to earn and redeem rewards across both carriers. With revenue booking now live, JetBlue and United are delivering on their shared commitment to create a more connected and seamless travel ecosystem.
Through Blue Sky, customers can now:
- Purchase flights or redeem miles/points directly through their airline of choice
- Use TrueBlue points when booking on JetBlue platforms
- Use MileagePlus miles when booking on United platforms
- Access JetBlue’s strength in leading leisure markets alongside United’s extensive domestic and global network (including United Express)
- Enjoy clearer integrated shopping and improved transparency around loyalty value
The partnership is also expanding leisure travel opportunities through JetBlue Vacations. Customers can now book United-operated flights as part of JetBlue Vacations Flight + Hotel packages (with cruise packages expected to follow soon). This opens up access to bucket-list destinations such as Japan, Brazil, Italy, Greece, and more. It also significantly broadens JetBlue Vacations’ reach for travelers looking to bundle trips.

JetBlue and United emphasized that revenue booking represents a major milestone, but additional enhancements are planned as Blue Sky continues rolling out in phases.
Upcoming benefits include:
- Reciprocal travel perks arriving later this spring, such as priority boarding, preferred seating, extra legroom options, same-day changes, and standby access
- United MileagePlus Travel transitioning to Paisly, LLC later in 2026 to expand booking options for hotels, vacation packages, rental cars, cruises, and travel insurance
- United’s planned growth at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is supported by JetBlue providing access to slots for up to seven daily roundtrips in Terminal 6 as early as 2027
Andrew Nocella, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer at United, said:
With cash bookings now available, Blue Sky is making it even easier for customers to plan and purchase travel across two leading networks. This milestone is another proof point of the value Blue Sky is bringing customers – in giving them the ability to book with cash, miles or points on either network, customers now have more choice, flexibility and a better overall booking experience when traveling to their favorite destinations.”
Marty St. George, President of JetBlue, added:
This is an important step forward in our Blue Sky collaboration, expanding the choice and flexibility we offer customers when they travel. This move gives our members even more ability to earn and redeem points to exciting destinations around the world, while United customers gain access to JetBlue’s network across the Americas and Europe. Throughout the year, we will enhance the Blue Sky collaboration by introducing reciprocal loyalty perks on flights and expanding Paisly-powered vacation offerings, including United-supported products such as hotels, cruises, rental cars and travel insurance.”
Anthony’s Take: I’m ready for this collaboration to fully roll out. I still contend it’s only a matter of time before United acquires JetBlue, but we’ll have to wait to see how that progresses.
