Starting this month, Air France is enhancing its Premium (Premium Economy) cabin experience by expanding its signature culinary program across all flights departing from the United States and Canada. The move reinforces the airline’s ongoing upmarket strategy for this cabin as well as its commitment to bringing French cuisine to the skies.
Since 2023, Air France has partnered with Michelin-starred chef Frédéric Simonin. He holds the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France distinction and will design exclusive dishes specifically for Premium travelers. Passengers will be offered a choice of two rotating hot entrées (including a vegetarian option) to provide variety and utilize seasonal freshness.
Until now, Simonin’s creations have been available on departures from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport (PTP), Martinique’s Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (FDF), Cayenne-Félix Éboué Airport (CAY), and Reunion Island’s Roland Garros Airport (RUN). Later this month, this elevated dining experience will also be offered on all Air France flights departing from the United States and Canada.

To develop dishes suited for onboard service at altitude, Frédéric Simonin worked closely with Servair. Together, they emphasized fresh, seasonal ingredients that aligned with Air France’s sustainability and quality commitments. Among the standout creations featured in the Premium cabin are small scallops with tapioca pearl sauce and asparagus pasta, as well as a trofie pasta bake with porcini mushrooms and hazelnuts.
This winter, Air France operates Premium service from numerous major gateways across the United States, including:
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
- Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
- Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
- Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)

In Canada, Air France serves:
- Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL)
- Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW)
- Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)
- Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

Air France Premium passengers begin their journey with a glass of Champagne shortly after takeoff. The onboard dining experience continues with a complete French-style meal presented on eco-friendly tableware (paired with stainless steel cutlery and proper glassware). The Premium menu includes appetizers, a starter, and a choice of two hot dishes crafted by Frédéric Simonin from select departure airports. The meal concludes with cheese and a redesigned dessert selection featuring French classics like crunchy vanilla puffs, Paris-Brest, and chocolate fondant.
On select daytime flights departing Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), passengers can also enjoy artisanal ice cream produced in the south of France. This is offered between meals in flavors like vanilla or milk chocolate with caramelized almonds.
A full range of hot and cold beverages is available throughout the flight, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. French wines and beers curated by Xavier Thuizat, France’s Best Sommelier 2022 and Air France’s head sommelier, further enhance the onboard dining program alongside the airline’s Champagne offering.
Anthony’s Take: With this expanded Michelin-starred catering rollout, Air France continues to elevate its Premium cabin to ensure that travelers across North America can enjoy a distinctly French culinary experience while in flight.
