I’m in the home stretch of travel for the year and will clear Diamond Medallion with Delta Air Lines on December 26th. With most of my flying this month being on Delta, I’m getting the chance to eat a lot of the meals served in First Class. Today, I flew from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Tampa International Airport (TPA) and pre-ordered the Hot Smoked Salmon Salad.

Delta describes this choice as “mixed greens, Granny Smith apples, cucumbers, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and honey mustard dressing.” What I got was slightly different as it was served with oil and vinegar but also had a white creamy dressing underneath.

The meal started with a choice of beverage (ginger ale as usual for me) and the snack basket (I chose some Biscoff cookies for later). Delta needs to get warm nuts or something more appropriate. I can’t be the only one who finds it odd to eat cookies or chips before the meal.

All of the ingredients tasted fresh and I love smoked salmon in all its forms. The tray came with a warm bread roll and chocolate mousse. Do&Co produced the meal and I find the catering from this company to be consistently excellent.

The chocolate mousse was outstanding. I practically licked the bowl. This was so much better than the tiramisu that has been recently served.
Anthony’s Take: I’m not generally a big salad eater, but I really enjoyed this meal and will order it again.
