I had to attend a dinner in Toronto this month and chose to stay at the Park Hyatt Toronto. The property is located not too far from the St. Regis Toronto (review here) and the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel (review here) where I stayed on my last few visits to the Canadian city. The hotel was perfect for my event and I enjoyed my brief time there.

Anthony’s Take: The Park Hyatt Toronto offers understated elegance and great Globalist treatment. I was only in the hotel for a few hours and then again to sleep, but the staff was friendly and the suite I was assigned was gorgeous. The hotel can be a bargain with points as the hotel is classifed as a Category 4 property.

Park Hyatt Toronto Booking

Booking

I booked a 1 King Bed room through Hyatt Privé for around $475 plus taxes and fees. It was the same rate as booking a Member Rate on Hyatt.com. If you want to get the benefits offered through Hyatt Privé, I can help with reservations. Just email me at anthony.losanno@fora.travel.

Transportation to/from the Hotel

I took an Uber Comfort to and from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). It took me over an hour for the 18-mile ride and cost close to $100. The return trip took about the same time and the fare was similar. Traffic is awful in Toronto.

Location

The Park Hyatt Toronto is located in Yorkville near downtown Toronto. It’s close to museums and other attractions. I felt it was a bit less business-y than when I stayed at the other hotels mentioned above.

Park Hyatt Toronto 3

The lobby is small with an even tinier seating area near reception.

This opens up near the restaurant, but there is not a ton of space, overall.

Park Hyatt Toronto 5

I liked the oversized art on the wall across from the entrance.

Check-in

Check-in is located to the right when you enter from the valet. I arrived around 12:30 PM and my suite was ready (the agent informed me that I had been upgraded, but I had already seen this on the app). It was great to be able to get in there to get some work done and relax before heading to my dinner.

The agent explained the benefits included with booking through Hyatt Privé. These include:

  • Complimentary breakfast buffet for two at Joni Restaurant or in-room dining
  • $100 hotel credit
  • Upgrade one room category (based on availability)
  • Late checkout of 2:00 PM (based on availability)

This was in addition to benefits that I would receive as a Globalist. I did not need a late checkout (even thought the agent asked me, which I appreciated). My keys were printed a moment later and I was off to my suite.

The elevators are just past reception.

Park Hyatt Toronto 10

Water was offered here.

Park Hyatt Toronto 11

I loved the flowers on display.

My suite was located on the fifth floor. The elevator lobby and hallways were in good repair and clean.

Park Hyatt Toronto 14

1 Bedroom Corner Suite (539)

There are 219 rooms including 40 suites at the hotel.

Park Hyatt Toronto 17

The suite opened with a small foyer that included a full-length mirror.

Park Hyatt Toronto 18

A half bath with a sink and toilet was to the right.

Park Hyatt Toronto 19

The half bath was a decent size with plenty of room for the toilet.

Park Hyatt Toronto 20

The vanity held a single sink.

Park Hyatt Toronto 21

A bar of Le Labo Bergamote 22 brand soap was next to the sink.

Park Hyatt Toronto 22

The living room was straight ahead. It offered a sofa, a chair, end tables, a TV, a table I used for dining, and a desk an chair.

Park Hyatt Toronto 23

The living room was a good size and would work fine for entertaining.

Park Hyatt Toronto 24

The desk area was a nice touch.

Park Hyatt Toronto 25

A cabinet across the room held a mini bar and coffeemaker.

Park Hyatt Toronto 26

The coffeemaker, cups, water, and an ice bucket were on the counter.

Park Hyatt Toronto 27

Coffee, tea, condiments, and snacks for sale were in one drawer.

Park Hyatt Toronto 28

A refrigerator drawer held beverages for sale (and no space for guest use).

Park Hyatt Toronto 29

The cabinet held glassware as well as wine and liquor for sale.

Park Hyatt Toronto 30

The TV was across from the couch and mounted above another cabinet.

Park Hyatt Toronto 31

This one held the safe.

Park Hyatt Toronto 32

The bedroom was off of the living room. It contained a king-sized bed and two nightstands along with a TV and chair.

Park Hyatt Toronto 33

The TV was mounted across from the bed.

Park Hyatt Toronto 34

The chair was near the windows.

Park Hyatt Toronto 46

The suite did not offer much of a view.

Park Hyatt Toronto 35

Closets held an iron, ironing board, and robes in one.

Park Hyatt Toronto 36

The other offered laundry and garment bags.

Park Hyatt Toronto 37

This dressing area separated the bedroom from the master bathroom.

Park Hyatt Toronto 38

The bathroom was large with a vanity with two sinks, a toilet, a glassed-in shower, and a huge tub.

Park Hyatt Toronto 39

The vanity offered tons of counter space.

Park Hyatt Toronto 40

More bar soap was found here.

Park Hyatt Toronto 41

Other toiletries were also on the counter.

Park Hyatt Toronto 42

I loved the massive tub and actually soaked for a bit. Another bar of soap and some bath salts were found there.

Park Hyatt Toronto 43

The glassed-in shower was a good size with great water pressure and temperature control.

Park Hyatt Toronto 44

More toiletries were found in the shower.

Park Hyatt Toronto 45

The toilet was positioned with plenty of space.

Park Hyatt Toronto 47

In-Room Dining

I decided to have lunch and used my $100 Hyatt Privé credit to cover most of that. I ordered mushroom soup, a grilled cheese, an odd corn dessert, and two ginger ales. This was over $100, but covered the majority of it.

Park Hyatt Toronto 48

The corn dessert was cool to look at, but was not to my taste. The in-room dining menu is expensive, but pretty lengthy.

A welcome amenity was brought with my meal (some macaron).

Public Areas & Amenities

The Park Hyatt Toronto offers a restaurant, a bar, a fitness center (pictured above), and Stillwater Spa. Unfortunately, I was not at the hotel long enough to check out any of the amenities.

Park Hyatt Toronto 52

The spa offers treatments as well as an aromatic steam room and sauna. A treatment must be booked for access.

Park Hyatt Toronto 53

Overall Impression:

The Park Hyatt Toronto is an elegant city oasis and one that I hope to return to in the future. I loved the suite and wish I had more time on property.
