Trading cards have been a fun memento on Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and other carriers for some time. Now, Hawaiian Airlines is getting in the game with a new collection of inflight collectibles. Starting today, passengers can request one of four exclusive pilot trading cards, participate in an industry-first digital aircraft card program, or pick up a special pair of Keiki Wings for young flyers.

The new pilot trading cards were created in collaboration with Hawaiian Airlines pilots. Each of the four cards highlights one of the airline’s main aircraft types, including the Boeing 717, Airbus A321neo, Airbus A330, and Boeing 787-9. The cards feature fun facts about each aircraft and a signature field for pilots to autograph and are printed on rainbow foil board with a UV gloss laminate.
Hawaiian Airlines is also launching a groundbreaking digital card experience featuring all 66 aircraft in its fleet. Each digital card is uniquely designed to reflect the name given to its corresponding plane (ranging from native Hawaiian birds on the Boeing 717s, to stars and constellations used by Polynesian voyagers on the 787s and A330s, and native plants and forests on the A321neos).
Guests can collect digital cards by tapping their smartphones on the NFC tag located near each aircraft’s main boarding door. After logging in here, they can view an animated card pack and learn about the cultural story behind their aircraft’s name. Each card is stored in a personal digital binder, which allows travelers to revisit their growing collection anytime. Passengers can collect digital cards in-flight using complimentary high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi or on the ground when boarding or deplaning.

Young travelers can now request Keiki Wings from flight attendants. Branded with the Hawaiian Airlines logo and the phrase “Future Crew,” these keepsakes are available in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis.
Head of Hawaii Marketing at Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines, said:
Today is such an exciting day for us at Hawaiian Airlines. Not only are we introducing something completely new by becoming the first airline to offer a digital card program, but our employees also get an exciting new opportunity to engage with guests, inspire future aviators and share our Islands’ rich culture in a meaningful and memorable way.”
Anthony’s Take: With these new initiatives, Hawaiian Airlines is blending tradition, technology, and storytelling into fun collectibles. I love that these are there for the asking.
